Norway's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Morten Wetland, presented this statement in the UN Security Council debate on the situation in Afghanistan and the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan - UNAMA.

This statement to the Security council was delivered by Ambassador Tine Mørch Smith. Norway urges all states to work to strengthen international humanitarian law and to keep our focus on the humanitarian realities in the field.

This statement was delivered to the Security Council by Minister Counsellor, Mr. Knut Langeland. Nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament are closely inter-linked. Norway continues to urge countries with outstanding proliferation issues to fully cooperate with the Agency.

This statement in the open discussions in the Security Council was given by Deputy Permanent Representative, Ms. Tine Mørch Smith. The Norwegian policy is based on the vision of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security.

This statement was presented by Deputy Permanent Representative Ms. Tine Morch Smith. The nordic countries are long term supporters of the peacekeeping operations as a key UN endeavour, and Ambassador Smith stressed the importance of protecting civilians.

Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Tine Mørch Smith presented Norway's statement to the UN Security Council on April 21, 2010. Ambassador Smith addressed the Council on the issue of "The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question".

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon opened the UN Security Council's open debate on "Haiti: A renewed commitment by the international community". President Bill Clinton, the UN Special Envoy to Haiti, also briefed the gathering. Norway's statement was presented by UN Ambassador Morten Wetland.
