Deputy Permanent Representative Mona Juul gave an explanation of vote on the General Assembly resolution 64/48 26 February 2010. Norway supported the resolution, which dealt with the so-called Goldstone report which investigated the Gaza war.

Norway's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Mona Juul, presented Norway's statement on the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations to the General Assembly on February 22, 2010. Ambassador Juul stressed importance of better coordination in term of the protection of civilians, especially in fighting sexual and gender-based violence. She also commented on the need for civilian peacekeepers, partnerships with regional organisations as well as the need to evaluate existing capabilities against set standards.
