The High-Level Conference of the UN's Central Emergency Response Fund took place in New York on December 13 and 14. In her statement, Deputy Permanent Representative Tine Mørch Smith announded Norway's contributions of NOK 325 million (USD 53 million) at the event.

Mr. Thoralf Stenvold, Minister Counsellor of Permanent Mission of Norway, presented Norway's statement to the UN Pledging Conference for Development Activities on 8 November 2010. Mr. Stenvold stressed that Norway will continue to be a major donor, but that we expect other countries, in particular the larger economies, to more than match our contributions.

UN Secretary-General's High-level meeting on Sudan on September 24, 2010 focused on implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, including the referendum on self-determination for Southern Sudan scheduled for next January. AHLC members and other major donor countries met in New York on Tuesday. The UN hosted the meeting. The Chair, Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, commended the participants, in particular the Palestinians and the Israelis, for their spirit of cooperation and their positive contributions to the deliberations.
