Nordic Statements

On behalf of the Nordic countries, Norwegian Counsellor Åsmund Eriksen presented a statement to the General Assembly's Sixth Committee. The statement was on the theme of "Diplomatic protection".

Nordic statement in the Sixth Committee of the General Assembly on the "Status of the Protocols Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and relating to the protection of victims of armed conflict". The statement was delivered by Mr. Hilding Lundkvist, First Secretary with the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the UN.

The statement addressed "Consideration of effective measures to enhance the protection, security and safety of diplomatic and consular missions and representatives".

On behalf of the Nordic countries, Finland presented the following statement on "Post-conflict peacebuilding" to the Security Council tomorrow 13 October 2010. The debate centred on the UN Secretary-General's report "Peacebuilding in the immediate aftermath of conflict".
