The Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations opened its 2009 session February 23rd that will last for about three weeks. Ambassador Morten Wetland gave Norway's opening statement the second day of the session.

Norway welcome the conclusion of The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) that UNAMAs budget for 2009 should be increased from around USD 76 mill to USD 163 mill, said Counsellor Jonas Jølle in Norway’s statement in Fifth Committee.
