Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing is one of the major threats to sustainable fisheries management. IUU fishing is a huge, organized business where the profits depend on the possibility of gaining access to legal markets through landings in ports. The General Assembly in 2005 established the  Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The purpose of the fund is to avoid delays in the international efforts in case of humanitarian disasters. Norway participated actively in the establishment of the fund, which will be administered by USG Mr. Jan Egeland, OCHA.

The declaration provides guidance for our common work with global challenges such as poverty, environment, security, disarmament and human rights.
