Ambassador Geir O. Pedersen and Deputy Assistant Secretary General Fadzai Gwaradzimba, UNDP, signed an agreement to implement the One UN model at country level. This agreement will strengthen the professionalization of the UN.

The Norwegian Government renewed its long term commitment to UN reform today, by signing a new cooperation agreement to provide additional funds for the United Nations Country Coordination Fund which is managed by Development Operations Coordination Office. Around USD 6,6 million (NOK 40 million) will be provided over the period 2010-2011.

Norway again stated in GA that it is in favour of enlargement of the Security Council to make it more representative, but also stresses that it needs to be more efficient, thus supporting concrete proposals made by the Group of Five Small States.
