Ambassador Geir O. Pedersen and Deputy Assistant Secretary General Fadzai Gwaradzimba, UNDP, signed an agreement to implement the One UN model at country level. This agreement will strengthen the professionalization of the UN. Read more

The Norwegian Government renewed its long term commitment to UN reform today, by signing a new cooperation agreement to provide additional funds for the United Nations Country Coordination Fund which is managed by Development Operations Coordination Office. Around USD 6,6 million (NOK 40 million) will be provided over the period 2010-2011. Read more

Norway again stated in GA that it is in favour of enlargement of the Security Council to make it more representative, but also stresses that it needs to be more efficient, thus supporting concrete proposals made by the Group of Five Small States. Read more

A joint Nordic statement was given in informal consultations on System Wide Coherence, Monday 30 March 2009,  by Morten Wetland, Ambassador of Norway to the UN. Read more

The Nordic countries welcomed the stated intention of the co-chairs to focus on the issue of gender in the month of May at the Informal Meeting of the General Assembly on United Nations System-wide Coherence Governance 17 April 2008. Read more

UN reform for the MDGs gets a US $275 million boost from Spain, Norway and the United Kingdom over the next two years as part of a new multi-donor funding mechanism to improve United Nations work in development at the country level. Read more

During a recent mission of the United Kingdom, Norway and the Netherlands to Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania, it became clear that there is a remarkable convergence of views on Delivering as One among these six countries. It was decided to prepare a joint statement for the Boards of all relevant UN agencies. Read more
