Special Representative on Violence against Children, Ms Marta Santos Pais launches a rapport on "Harmful Practices against Children in Plural Legal Systems" on October 11th.
Panel Discussion on October 11th during the Commemoration of the first International Day of the Girl Child. The objectives of the event is to launch the thematic report "Addressing Harmful Practices against Children in Plural Legal Systems, with a Special Focus on Africa", to raise awareness about root causes and consequences of harmful practices against children, to support and build upon children’s advocacy and to share recommendations to prevent and respond to harmful practices through law reform in plural legal systems.
The event is held to contribute to the International Day of the Girl Child, and to discuss enhanced cooperation at national, regional and international levels to consolidate progress in children’s protection from harmful practices.
